Ta-da, my costume. Not exactly a costume, per se, because I've done transformer costumes before and they're incredibly bulky and hard to walk around in. I wanted something that would be easy to wear, no extra accessories (save a pair of headphones I was planning on wearing, then decided against at the last second) and something that I could wear around afterwards without it being a costume, instead being just a novelty shirt or something. So I went with a bulky sweater, made a turtle neck, and sharpie-fied a pair of eye protectors that my brothers use when they play airsoft. I was going to make a T-shirt, but it just didn't seem right...I wanted to make something that Soundwave, if he were a human, would wear. He would wear something the unabomber would wear, you know? Something big and heavy he could draw over his eyes so he could sit in the corner and just observe. Also, I had a pair of white pants with blue kneepads, but I didn't finish those in time. (Also, I'm afraid to keep working on them because last time, I pinned the pads on to the pants while I was wearing them, and when I pulled them off, three of the pins went right into my leg. *shudder*)

Basically, this costume was a really bad idea. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but the combination of Soundwave's character (which I really tried to stay in, because I felt like just an idiot in a sweater otherwise), and the fact that I was wearing something that was obviously uncomfortable (it was like, 80 degrees DX) in an area where someone wearing a hoodie alone is considered sketchy, especially in the heat, pretty much alienated me from everyone else. Not that I really minded, I'm very anti-social and awkward as it is, but nobody really commented on my costume, except one group who walked by me went "OMG! SOUNDWAVE!" and a vendor mentioned that they thought it looked neat (although she had no idea what I was). I felt as though all my work was pointless, you know? And not to mention aside from a group of Team Rocket/Team Aqua grunts and a Harley Quinn, I was the only villain. Although that was kinda cool.

*edit* the tutorial to make your own Soundwave hoodie. :D (why didn't I do this earlier? >.<) [link]

I would wear that everywhere during the cold season. Give no fucks what people thought of it. And I think the sweater/jacket idea is pretty neat. :)

Thanks! ^^ And nope, that's just the seam, I put in front there so it'd look more like Soundwave's faceplate, you know how it kinda folds in the middle a little bit?
